Our Services

At VDS Swim Clinics, we provide targeted coaching support designed to complement club training. Our services focus on the technical and performance areas that are often difficult to prioritise in regular squad sessions, including starts, turns, underwater skills and race preparation.

We primarily work with competitive swimmers at county and regional level who are looking to refine their skills, build confidence and gain a clearer understanding of their performance.

Swim Clinics

Our swim clinics are intensive, multi-day programmes designed to give competitive swimmers focused time on the race skills and technical details that are often overlooked. By combining pool work with clear explanations and individual feedback, the clinics aim to help swimmers better understand their performance and apply improvements more confidently in training and competition.

Clinics typically include:

  • Pool sessions focused on starts, turns, underwaters and technical detail

  • Land-based sessions covering warm up, mobility, stretching and recovery

  • Classroom sessions using presentations and video to explain technical and performance concepts

  • Optional technical and video feedback for swimmers who request more detailed analysis

Clinics are delivered in small groups and are best suited to county and regional level swimmers who train regularly with a club.

Ongoing Support & Development

This service provides additional guidance for swimmers and parents outside of in-person clinics. It is designed to support long-term development by helping swimmers better understand their training, competition performances and progression over time.

Support may include:

  • Periodic check-ins with swimmers and parents

  • Technical or race-based video feedback

  • Competition preparation and post-competition reflection

  • General guidance around preparation, recovery and development

Ongoing Support & Development is intended to complement regular club training rather than replace it.

Small Group Sessions

Small Group sessions are short, focused sessions designed to target a specific technical or race skill in more detail than is possible within a larger clinic setting. These sessions provide swimmers with regular opportunities to revisit and refine key elements of their performance.

Sessions typically involve:

  • Groups of approximately 6–8 swimmers

  • A clear focus on one specific skill (starts, turns, underwaters or stroke detail)

  • Pool-based coaching with immediate feedback and repetition

  • A shorter format, delivered over one or two sessions, allowing swimmers to attend flexibly

Small Group sessions are intended to run more regularly than full clinics and are best suited to swimmers who want targeted technical work alongside their usual club training.
